Here are just a few things you could be doing on your
visit.
 | Oradour-sur-Glane,
this is quite a sombre place of remembrance. On the 10/6/44 the town was
massacred by the Waffen SS, the town is now kept as it was then as a museum. |

 | Le Parc du Reynou,
Take the children to visit the safari park. |

 | Parc D'Arbre En Arbre, A set of
fantastic tree-top assault courses for children and adults alike, on the edge
of the stunning Lake Vassiviere. |

 | Parc Bellevue, An
1970's style adventure
style amusement park with water slides, bouncy castles (for adults also), go-karting and
a petting zoo etc. An amusement park as they used to be before electronics!
(great for the under 12's). |

 | Les Loups de Chabrières,
The wolf park about 45min's away
from us. |

 | Aquarium du Limousin, "In the eerie
setting of Limoges’ former subterranean water reservoirs, come and discover
the fabulous diversity of the world of Neptune, meeting as you
go the inhabitants of Earth’s furthest oceans and mightiest rivers!
An extraordinary "voyage" past the astonishing fish that patrol the deeps of
Africa, or the tiniest, yet most vivacious, living jewels from the waters of
Asia, to the notoriously intimidating piranhas surging from the heart of
Amazonia. |
Complete your odyssey in enchantment by tropical seas that teem
with an incessant ballet of multicoloured throngs. Enthralling!"

 | Cité des Insectes, A whole
little zoo just for insects. Everything you ever
wanted to know and lots more beside! Located at Nedde near Lake Vassiviere. |

 | Le Splash d’Argentat, This is a
large water park with slides, pools etc. They also offer kayak lessons and
have good picnic facilities. |

 | Futuroscope, Futuroscope is an
amazing park filled with exhibits celebrating science and technology. It
specializes in catering to all ages, and has exhibits simulating everything
from skydiving to space walking! There is plenty to see and do and really aims
for fun and education. This is situated near Poitiers about
1 3/4hrs from us. |

 | Vulcania,
Sounds strange, but
celebrates volcanoes and offers exhibits like “Journey to the centre of the
Earth!” It also has a new timely exhibit about Mars, and has workshops for
children aged between 6 – 12 years old. Children are treated as “explorers”
here, and it’s pretty atmospheric due to the surrounding impressive volcanoes
of the area! This is situated in the Auvergne about 1
1/2hrs from us. |

 | Rocamadour...
Historic
shrine perched on a limestone cliff, Rocamadour tells a story of religious
belief and human endeavour.
