Walking & Cycling around the area!This is a great area if your passion after breakfast is for pulling-on your walking boots or getting into your cycling gear and setting off for the day to discover the natural beauty of the Limousin. There are lots of green lane routes and quite little roads that lead to typical rural French towns & villages, were you can stop to have a coffee or more substantial 10-15euro mid-day menu to re-fuel. If your cycling then you may well find yourself following the route of the "Tour de France" when it passed though, The markings for Armstrong etc can still be seen on the roads around Lake Vassiviere (only 7Km away). The lake is one of the biggest in France and all things to do with the water i.e. fishing, water-skiing, sailing etc can be found there or you can just relax on one of the many beaches. If you would rather do some horse riding then there are equestrian centre/riding stables only 5mins from us were you can take out a steed suited to your ability!. You can find free maps in the hotel reception to help you with your adventures or you can pop into the tourist office in Peyrat to talk to the tourist guide who is always very helpful & friendly and good sauce of information on what will be happening during your stay. We are sure that if you favor the outdoors & nature, then you can not fail to enjoy this part of the Limousin which is very often referred to as the "lake district of France" by so many of our guests.
